Super Mario Bros , one of the most important franchises in the history of the entertainment industry, will have an animated movie after the agreement reached by Illumination Studios and Nintendo, according to the Wall Street Journal.
All that’s needed is for the Japanese company to sign the agreement to close one of the most important collaborations of recent years, as the most famous plumber would make the leap to the big screen thanks to the creators of successful franchises such as GRU , Mascotas or Canta .
The character of Super Mario was already taken to the movies in the nineties in an insufferable film starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo that was all nonsense and whose shooting was a real hell.
Everything points to the fact that the very same Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario or Zelda among others, will be the producer of the film. Apparently the most complicated part of the negotiations is that Nintendo wanted to make sure to be involved at all times in the creative process of the film.
