Thanks to a big tax measure recently launched by Donald Trump, Apple will soon be able to repatriate 220 billion dollars currently blocked abroad to reinvest in the United States. And according to analysts at Citibank, one of the largest US banks, the California firm has already noted several targets of choice in the event of a future takeover. The first would be the most popular video streaming platform in the world, Netflix.
Two Citi analysts estimate that there is a 40% chance that Apple will buy Netflix soon, a probability far from negligible. An acquisition of the streaming platform by Apple would indeed fit perfectly into the strategy of the brand to the apple, which has been thinking for many months to launch its own platform. Capitalized at $ 83 billion, or only one third of the 220 billion new Apple, Netflix could easily be bought by the company created by Steve Jobs.
Wall Street analysts put the Disney group second among Apple’s targets, saying the media giant would have a 20 to 30 percent chance of being soon bought by the Cupertino group. Video games are also an area where Apple is eyeing, with Electronic Arts, Activision and Take Two studios being cited in future brand buyouts, as well as premium auto brand Tesla.
