Quarterback Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans has a sprained his left MCL while it’s still TBA whether he will miss any games

The team will watch Mariota’s progress this week to see if he can practice, and will be sharing reps as needed with backup Zach Mettenberger.

The grade of Mariota’s sprain was not divulged, but a source tells ESPN that an MRI revealed a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which is often classified as a three- to four-week recovery.

Mariota’s knee was injured when he was hit low by Miami’s Olivier Vernon in the Dolphins’ 38-10 win Sunday (Oct. 18) at Nissan Stadium. The league is reviewing the hit.

“[Mariota] is walking around the facility here just fine,” said Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt. “As the week progresses, we’ll see how it goes and see if he has a chance to play.”

The Titans (1-4) host the Falcons (5-1) on Sunday (Oct. 25).
